Assistant and High Function Assistant Expectations:

Meet all expectations as an assistant ($15-$20/hr)

  • Assist doctor smoothly without any issues.
  • Able to perform all tasks that decrease doctor’s chair time with patient
  • Interact with patients from start to finish with empathy and resolve
  • Report to work punctually
  • Treat colleagues with respect
  • Act as a team player.  Help others in the office if asked.  Monitor the office patient flow and help when not asked.
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Educate oneself of materials and products used in the dental office
  • Self correct one’s errors, learn, and improve
  • Ability to perform in high paced situations without decrease in performance
  • Present treatment plans and answer any questions the patient may have regarding treatment and cost breakdowns
  • Properly sterilize instruments, break down and set up rooms
  • Properly follow lab cases for patients.  Ensure that they are sent out and logged when received.
  • Schedule patients
  • Performing all the aforementioned duties swiftly and accurately

High function assistant expectations ($21-$25/hr)

  • Ability to discuss with patients their ledger and to resolve any financial issues
  • Ability to successfully resolve conflicts with patients without need to escalate to management or doctor
  • Sell treatment plans to patients and ability to look into patient’s insurance in detail and depth with accuracy without escalation to management or doctor
  • Ability to make accurate educated guesses about patient diagnosis to expedite patient flow into same day treatment without consultation with doctor
  • Ability to rearrange sequences of treatment in treatment plans accurately when the patient has a specific concern or priority
  • Ability to look at the office schedule and point out errors or scheduling that conflicts with general office flow and time availability
  • Ability to look through the office schedule and point out any issues with insurance eligibility and coverage.  Ability to fix and resolve those issues.
  • Ability to create and implement new systems
  • Ability to talk to other staff with maturity to constructively address any intrapersonal staff behavioral issues or systemic operational issues.
  • Impeccable attendance
  • Reach out to third party services and vendors to troubleshoot operational and supplies issues
  • Extensive problem solving when it comes to any operational issue and taking accountability of the results
